THERE has been a gap between this newsletter and the last one because there has very little contact in the way of offerings for inclusion. My email address is at the bottom of the newsletter, so please let me know of any special interest items, and forthcoming events which your Club may be holding. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THE NEXT NEWSLETTER OUT IN EARLY DECEMBER, SO PLEASE TRY TO CONTACT ME BY THE END OF THIS MONTH.
Athletics reorganisation – Update
Both the EGM and AGM of NoEAA were adjourned to a later date, so the new structure for NoEAA has yet to be agreed.
Club secretaries will have received a letter from England Athletics about affiliation and competitive member fees which will come payable with effect from 1st April 2007. ALL clubs, Leagues and Associations will pay a flat rate affiliation fee of £50. In addition clubs will need to pay £3 for each member who wishes to take part in competition. This does NOT apply to Under 11s. These replace the fees paid to North of England since 1992.

Young Athletes’ League
Far-reaching proposals for a major change to the YAL have been proposed by Sutton St Helens, seconded by Wigan and circulated to Clubs in the Northern area. The idea is that all, or some of the proposals, which can be discussed separately be implemented in time for the start of the 2007 season. Club representatives should take the time to study the proposals carefully and return the forms to the League Administrator, Doug Hanna. The AGM is at the Alexander Stadium on 18 November.
Forthcoming County Championships

Suzanne Benyon (Owen)
It is with great sadness we report the tragic death of Suzanne Benyon (Owen) which happened at the end of October. She was 27.
She was well known in Cheshire for her performances upto County level, although in recent years she chose to represent her native Scottish District in Inter-county championships while still living and working/studying in this area.
Suzanne and her husband Peter, started their athletic careers with Chester & Ellesmere Port AC. While at Keele University, Suzanne joined City of Stoke AC and then more recently, City of Glasgow AC. Suzanne gained a Scottish vest and won their 5000m track championship this year. Despite a series of injuries she was becoming a noted competitor.
Our thoughts are very much with Peter and with Suzanne’s parents. Her mother, Sandra, is a well known endurance runner with Tattenhall Runners.
