FELL RUNNING

The Cheshire Fell Running Champions have now been arranged to be held on October 28th from “The Winking Man” on the Buxton to Leek road at 11am; distance 9 miles.  Full details are on the Congleton Harriers web site.

Cheshire T&F League – After Round 2 – Salford Mets continue to lead the U11s table, with Macclesfield Harriers leaders in both the Mens’ and Womens’ tables.

 

SUCCESSES by CHESHIRE  ATHLETES :

At the English Schools T&F Championships held at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, Cheshire Schools Athletes came away with a number of medals.

Hayley Jones in the 100m and Stevie Stockton in the 1500m Senior Girls events both won gold.  Bronze medals were won by Charlotte Roach (SG 1500m); Rebecca Craigie (IG 1500m), Matt Jackson (IB Steeplechase) and M Rolling (IB Long jump).

 

A week later Hayley Jones won gold in the European Junior 200m as well as another gold in the 4x100m relay and a silver in the 4x400m relay.

Young Athletes’ League – ROADSHOW – Sport City Manchester on 9 August commencing at 7.00pm.  Athletes, Coaches and Parents are all welcome to come and listen to the presentation and make suggestions and comments.

FOREIGN ATHLETES

All Clubs are reminded of the rules relating to the registration of Foreign Athletes.

 

“Anyone who is not eligible to compete for British teams has to register with UKA before they can represent a club in the UK and this registration has to be renewed annually.  It is completely separate to England Athletics registration although when the new database is complete all records will be stored on the same athlete file.  Foreign athlete registration only applies to junior and senior age group athletes.”
