CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations are due to George Bunner (County President) who was presented with a special award for Meritorious Service to Athletics, by UK Athletics Chairman, Ed Warner. George has made a huge contribution to athletics for more than thirty years. Without George there would be no Sportshall Athletics and no Star:track athletics, both of which have inspired many youngsters to begin their career in athletics – some of these youngsters have been, and still are, competitors in World and Olympic events.
Congratulations are also due to West Cheshire AC who were presented with the Sport England-sponsored BBC North-West Community Sport Club of the Year Award. Club Chairman Dennis Wall received the Award at a star-studded dinner in Manchester.
