The Inter Counties Half Marathon will take place at Humber Bridge on 24 June.  Adrian Thiemicke will be Team Manager.

A highly successful meeting between representatives from England Athletics Limited and the English Road Running Association was held recently to consider how to move forward to the benefit of the Road Running community, and to address current concerns at grassroots level.  Anyone wishing to contribute to these discussions should contact their regional team at England Athletics.

A report from Adrian Thiemicke :

Over a very wet and windy Bank Holiday weekend, the Cheshire squad at the Inter Counties T&F Champs performed brilliantly.  The team came away with four medals, and the men gained promotion to the top division for the first time ever.  The women narrowly missed out on promotion despite having only four athletes.  Elliott O’Neill produced two stunning performances in the horizontal jumps, just missing out on a medal in the triple jump, but taking gold in the long jump in a field which included Phillips Idowu.  Dorel Greta and David McKay competed in the javelin, with Dorel gaining bronze.  Roger Skedd broke his pb in the 110mH, and travels to Arles to compete for Great Britain in the IAAF CE Champs.  Katie Read and Emily Brown collected medals in the hurdles and steeplechase respectively.  Other members of the Cheshire team were Matt Barnes, Stephen Butterfield, Andrew Hopkinson, Tony Bell, Darren Scott and Lucy Evans who found herself competing in five races over the weekend –what a schedule!
