RESULTS

Road and Cross Country Relays have brought successes to Cheshire Clubs :

In the National YA Road Relays in Sutton Park, near Birmingham, the Warrington AC U17 Mens team took bronze medals, only 2 seconds behind the silver medal winners.

The same team won their age group in the English cross country relays at Mansfield, with Steven Broadhurst and Daniel Cliffe running the second and third fastest leg times respectively.  In the Under 20 ladies event at Mansfield, the Vale Royal team were third with Charlotte Roach running the second fastest leg of all time, only 20 seconds slower than international Steph Twell.  In the U17 Ladies race, Rebecca Craigie (Vale Royal) ran the third fastest leg time to help her club finish 6th.  Vale Royal’s U15 girls team came away with bronze medals in their event.

COACHING UPDATE

Cheshire Pole Vault  Development Squad – Winter Indoor Training.  Six indoor half-day sessions have been arranged to take place at Sport City Manchester.  No prior vaulting experience is necessary but athletes should be keen and willing to learn.  Probable age-range is 13 to 18,  This is also an opportunity for coaches to come along and add specific drills and technical knowledge to their capability.  The group will  ideally number eight athletes although  if other coaches take active involvement, the group may expand.  Each session will cost £5, but PLEASE check out payment/costs on the Cheshire AA web site.  The facility hire is being supported by England Athletics.
